Hunday Manor Hotel

Osprey Management Group, the Workington-based hospitality business, has acquired a Cumbrian hotel and restaurant for an undisclosed sum.

Hunday Manor Hotel is a country house hotel just off the A595 near Workington, providing 27 bedrooms, a 70-seat restaurant, cocktail bar, and conference and banqueting rooms for up to 250 guests set in four acres of picturesque grounds.

Osprey has a portfolio of sites including The Galloping Horse in High Harrington and The Peddler in Whitehaven, employing more than 50 staff. It says it plans to refurbish its latest acquisition.

Managing director, Craig Lowery, said: “Hunday Manor Hotel is a great business ideally located on the edge of the Lake District National Park and is located near our other establishments, we are thrilled with the addition of the hotel to our portfolio.

“As a growing business, we’re excited to take on our next challenge of welcoming guests and hosting events for our customers.”

He added: “We’re looking forward to continuing our commitment to provide job opportunities to local people and engaging local suppliers to provide outstanding produce. We have exciting refurbishment plans for the hotel, and we look forward to sharing these soon.”
