Flights and holidays group increases investment in region’s major airports

Summer 2025 sales push now on

Flights and holidays group, Jet2.com, is increasing the aircraft it bases at both Liverpool John Lennon and Manchester Airports in its biggest summer season so far.

The group has announced its summer 2025 schedule, offering more destinations to holidaymakers from across the North West.

It will increase the number of aircraft based at Manchester to 24 to service the summer 2025 season, while it will increase its Liverpool-based planes to five in only the second summer season since it began operating from the site.

In total, 44 sunshine destinations are on sale from Manchester Airport, making it Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ largest Summer Sun programme to operate from the airport.

At Liverpool, it is offering 23 sunshine destinations, including three new routes to Malaga, Malta and Reus.

The companies will fly more than 300 departing weekly flights from Manchester Airport during peak periods in summer 25, and almost 70 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

During the coming weeks the operator will also launch its leisure city destinations from Manchester Airport for summer 25.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are seeing strong demand from customers and independent travel agents wanting to book their Summer Sun early and get the best availability and choice.

“Our Summer 25 Sun programme represents our largest programme to date from Manchester Airport, and the size and scale of this means customers in the North West have lots of choice and flexibility when it comes to getting away. As well as investing in our flying programme, we have also invested in our operation and added an extra aircraft at the airport to support this huge programme.”

Stephen Turner, commercial director at Manchester Airport, said: “Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ expansion from Manchester in Summer 2025 is brilliant news for the area’s travellers. By 2025 our new look Terminal Two will be complete following a £1.3bn, 10-year programme of investment, and passengers booking a trip with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays that summer will benefit from the use of those state-of-the-art facilities.”

Steve Heapy added: “Since announcing the launch of flights and holidays from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, we have been absolutely staggered by the incredible response from customers and independent travel agents across the region. We are seeing very strong demand from customers and independent travel agents wanting to book their Summer Sun early. Our second Summer Sun programme represents significant expansion from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and includes three new routes.”

John Irving, CEO Liverpool John Lennon Airport, said: “We are all looking forward to our new partnership and welcoming Jet2.com and Jet2holidays customers for Summer 2024 and are, therefore, absolutely delighted that Summer 2025 is now on sale, too.

“This will bring 14 more weekly departures with flights to 23 destinations including three new routes compared to their Summer 2024 programme, with an additional fifth Jet2.com aircraft to be based here at Liverpool.”
