Jenna Picken has joined Interpath from Big Four firm EY to lead the insurgent advisory firm’s debt advisory offering.

She joins Interpath from the Financial Services Corporate Finance team at EY where her deals sheet covered mid-market Financial Services, working with clients across speciality finance including supporting numerous borrowers with their debut securitisation financing.

Select recent transactions include advising Octopus Electric Vehicles on raising a £550m securitisation facility; supporting an SME lender with a £200m securitisation to grow their invoice finance and ABL lending business; and advising Evolution Money on structuring their inaugural £290m securitisation.

But it is her experience in speciality finance that appears to be of the greatest interest to ambitious Interpath, which is expanding its offer from the core insolvency and corporate recovery work it started with when the firm broke out of KPMG in 2021 in a move backed by HIG Capital.

She also raised public and private securitisation finance whilst working at specialist mortgage lender Together Money, and as a lender in Structured Finance at RBS.

Also joining her in Interpath’s financial services deal advisory team are Jack Dutton, Nico Angeliniadis and Olivia Dunning.

Jack Dutton joins the firm as a Director, having previously spent five years in EY’s Financial Services Corporate Finance team where he specialised in debt advisory. Prior to EY, he worked at RBS in roles spanning structured finance and funds finance.

He has worked across a number of speciality finance asset classes, including arranging the sale of a £180m portfolio of auto finance loans, advising on a £300m private securitisation of bridging loans and commercial mortgages; and advising a Swedish SME lender on a new SEK1.5bn senior facility.

Nico Angeliniadis arrives as an Associate Director from the Financial Services Corporate Finance team at EY, where his experience includes advising a UK asset finance lender on a £275m private securitisation; arranging the sale of a £180m portfolio of auto finance loans; and serving as a buy-side advisor for a private equity fund in their £140m investment in a currency platform. Nico’s prior experience includes working across Financial Services Audit and Valuations.

Olivia Dunning joins the team as a Manager. She previously spent over 6 years at EY, specialising within the Debt Advisory and Turnaround & Restructuring practices, with assignments including advising on a £100m facility in development financer; arranging a £200m trade receivables private securitisation and a £150m bridging loan securitisation.

The arrivals of the quad from EY follows the announcement that Interpath has hired experienced corporate financier Nick Parkhouse to lead its Financial Services Deal Advisory offering. Nick will join Interpath in March 2024.

Mark Raddan, head of Advisory for Interpath, said: “The establishment of our new Financial Services Deal Advisory team marks a significant investment for Interpath, as we seek to build upon the success of our brilliant Debt Advisory and Corporate Finance teams, and create one of the largest, independent debt and capital advisory teams in the UK. In today’s ever-changing economic environment, more and more companies from across the financial services spectrum require specialist support in raising the capital they require in line with their growth strategies.”

Jenna Picken added: “In a continually evolving market, there exists significant opportunity for businesses in financial services to grow and develop their product sets and I am excited to have the support and ambition of Interpath to deliver for clients in this sector.

“In particular, I am looking forward to building the team’s presence both across the North region and in the speciality finance segment, bringing new ideas on capital raising, and structuring and supporting clients with accessing the securitisation markets.”
