DIY haircuts now possible with App that transforms phone into electric razor

A Manchester technology company has scored a global first with the development of an App that transforms a mobile phone into an electric razor.

Readers of theBusinessDesk.com can apply for a discounted beta version of the app by using the discount code Looflirpa2024.

Available for download from Apple and Android App Stores, the innovative device allows people to trim their own hair on the move.

Appacut is the brainchild of self-confessed tech geek Michael Lawes, who has spent two years turning his idea into a reality. He recently received a six-figure investment to further develop the App to enable it to handle more intricate hair styles.

Lawes explains: “The App is really easy to download and use. Because it’s more slimline than an electric razor, it can be taken anywhere meaning people can cut their hair wherever and whenever they want.

“At the moment, it can only handle basic 3mm, 6mm and 9mm buzz cuts so I’m beyond excited to have received further investment to take it to the next stage.

“Most of us run our lives through our mobile phones – shopping, banking, playing games. It seemed like a no brainer to put haircuts in the palm of someone’s hand, too.”

As well as turning a mobile phone into a functioning trimmer, the Appacut App provides step by step instructions on how to create a number of different styles, including a Skin Fade, French Crop and Undercut.

Research conducted by Appacut reveals that 77% of under 45 year olds get frustrated having to wait for a barbers appointment, while a massive 87% would welcome the convenience of cutting their own hair at a time and place convenient to them.
