Leigh housing scheme will create 146 homes following planning consent

A typical Bellway home

A scheme for 146 new homes in Leigh has been granted planning approval.

Bellway has received planning consent for the land, which is more than 11 acres in size, located on Hooten Lane. It was formerly Moss Bank Nurseries.

Having recently exchanged contracts, Bellway will now transform the site into a picturesque development with Bedford Brook running along the eastern boundary and open fields beyond.

The new development, known as Moss Bank Garden, will provide a range of two-, three- and four-bedrooms homes, incorporating mews, semi-detached and detached houses.

Garce Yarlett, Sales Director at Bellway, said: “Moss Bank Gardens is really well located just a short drive from Leigh town centre and neighbouring villages, yet close to open green spaces and along Bedford Brook.

“With it’s semi-rural feel and fantastic mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, we are confident interest in the properties will be high.”

In addition to the new development, Bellway has made a financial Section 106 contribution of £38,315 towards traffic calming and highway improvements in the locality.

Grace added: “We are thrilled to have started build at Moss Bank Gardens and look forward to the development taking shape, with the sales launch scheduled this summer.”

Bellway worked with APD Architects and Gateley Solicitors on the scheme.
