Renovated landmark pub site set to re-open next month with focus on fine food

The Hightown pub

A North Liverpool pub landmark will re-open next month after it was acquired earlier this year.

Liverpool-based GSG (Graffiti Spirits Group) Hospitality announced the purchase of The Hightown Pub, in June, in collaboration with Executive Head Chef, Daniel Heffy, marking an exciting expansion for the group.

Alongside GSG partners Matt Farrell and John Ennis, they pledged to revolutionise the traditional pub experience with a menu that steps away from typical gastro pub offerings.

It followed the recent Michelin listing for NORD, in Liverpool’s Plaza, cementing GSG’s commitment not only to driving Liverpool’s hospitality scene, but also to further supporting local businesses and communities.

GSG Hospitality has overseen an extensive refurbishment of the pub, transforming it into a dynamic hub of hospitality.

John Ennis and Matt Farrell said: “We are eager to create a unique space that caters to diverse dining preferences and brings the community together.”

The Hightown Pub will continue to operate as a traditional pub on the ground floor.

The first floor will feature a British restaurant, offering a refined menu crafted by Chef Heffy, who said guests can expect a sophisticated dining experience with high quality dishes that celebrate the best of British cuisine, created with local ingredients.

The hub will also house a stylish cocktail bar, and plans include the reinstatement of the rooms at The Hightown Pub, further enhancing its appeal to both locals and visitors.
