Property group reveals revised mixed-use development plans

Muller Property Group has submitted a revised planning application for the second phase of its mixed-use development at Maylands Park, Nantwich.

The company said the new proposals follow an extensive period of public consultation with local residents, councillors and MP, Stapeley Parish Council, and other stakeholders, and “reflect significant community feedback”.

Phase 2, which received detailed planning approval in February 2024, has undergone a re-evaluation based on input from the local community, addressing key concerns related to vehicle movements, pollution, and the integration of employment uses with nearby residential areas and public spaces.

The revised scheme, designed to balance residential needs with community spaces now includes a mix of residential, retirement, and a care home, alongside public open space and green infrastructure.

The residential development will provide 40 new homes. Notably, 30% of these homes will be designated as a affordable housing, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four bedroom family houses.

The plans also include a retirement living community that will comprise 49 bedrooms, while a care home delivering 80 beds and extending up to three storeys will be built.

A significant new feature of the proposal is the public open space, covering 1.5 acres.

The proposal includes improved access for both vehicles and pedestrians. New access points will be created to improve connectivity, ease traffic flow, and reduce congestion, making the area more accessible for residents and visitors.

The development partners for the site are Anwyl Homes delivering the residential and McCarthy Stone to develop and manage the retirement community should the site be granted planning approval.

Steve Bourne, technical director, Muller Property Group, said: “Our revised plans for Maylands Park reflect our commitment to listening to local concerns and delivering a development that provides lasting benefits to the Nantwich community. We are proud to o er a mixed-use development that not only provides housing, retirement and care but also prioritises public open space and green infrastructure.”
