Outdoor retailer takes key unit in city centre retail site
Manchester Arndale will welcome a new Go Outdoors shop on December 14.
The retailer is taking a 12,000 sq ft space at Unit 38 in the city centre retail site.
The store will stock a range of outdoor wear and equipment and will offer services including boot and rucksack fitting.
Store manager, Michelle Morrison, said: “The team and I have been working hard behind the scenes and training with our amazing Go store teams in other locations, ensuring we are ready to equip our customers for life outdoors.
“As more and more people are reaping the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental wellbeing, we’re looking forward to being part of your journey to find exactly what you need, from walking the dog to that epic mountain hiking holiday.”
Lee Bagnall, Go Outdoors CEO, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to be able to expand Go Outdoors into the Manchester Arndale and to return to the city.
“We are happy to be able to serve customers within the convenience of their new local store, which sits in the city centre.
“We have had a brilliant couple of years at GO, as more and more people are reaping the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental wellbeing, and this expansion is the outcome of that success.”
He added: “Since its opening in the 1970s, the Manchester Arndale has been a key visiting point for both Mancunians and those visiting the city, and we are thrilled to be joining such a great group of retailers.”
David Allinson, Centre Director for Manchester Arndale, said: “Go Outdoors is an exciting brand and a big name in the outdoor clothing and equipment world, so we are thrilled to welcome them to Manchester Arndale.”
