Peel Land presses ahead with plans for 400 new homes following council approval

CGI of Hazelhurst Farm plans

Salford City Council has approved Peel Land plans for up to 400 sustainable homes at Hazelhurst Farm, Worsley.

The scheme will provide high quality, housing together with bringing forward significant infrastructure and environmental enhancements that align with the site’s housing allocation in Greater Manchester’s Places for Everyone Plan.

Hazelhurst Farm will deliver up to 80 affordable homes on-site in an area that has seen little recent affordable housing provision, alongside a significant sum to boost affordable housing delivery by up to a further 120 homes across the city.

A village green will be located at the heart of the development with a children’s play area and safe walking and cycling routes. Improved access to Wardley Woods will also deliver enhanced recreational opportunities for local residents.

The development includes a comprehensive package of improvements to local infrastructure, enhancing pedestrian, cycling, and public transport connections, alongside upgrades to highways that will facilitate sustainable travel.

A site for a new two-form entry primary school is reserved to meet anticipated local demand for school places across the local area.

The masterplan has been shaped by extensive community and stakeholder consultation to ensure it reflects the priorities and needs of the local area.

A Peel Land spokesperson said: “The positive outcome from Salford’s Planning Panel is the result of years of engaging with the council and local stakeholders to develop plans for a new neighbourhood that meets local needs.

“We look forward to seeing the delivery of a thriving community of new homes and enhanced green space for the local community.”
