Matalan looking for 2,300 Christmas staff

NORTH West fashion and homeware retailer Matalan is recruiting for 2,300 festive workers.

The Skelmersdale-based group, which has 208 out-of-town sites, will add an avergae of 11 employees per store.

Retail director Mike Jeans said: “We are pleased to be announcing the creation of 2,300 jobs throughout the country during the Christmas period.

“We are looking for sales assistants who focus on making sure every potential Christmas present is on the sales floor, who love to work in a busy environment, but above all else, those who strive to keep our customers smiling We are looking forward to welcoming new colleagues to help Matalan grow.”

The firm said that where possib;le it would look to offer temporary staff a full-time position.
