Engineering firm to create 150 jobs in Runcorn

AN engineering firm is to create upwards of 150 jobs at its base in Runcorn, doubling the number of staff who work at the office.

Energy services company Wood Green PSN, whose headquarters are in Aberdeen, said that the extra staff would be taken on following a string of contract wins for projects in the North Sea.

The company’s UK managing director, Robin Watson, said: “We have an engineering base in Runcorn that provides jobs for over 150 engineers and personnel. We are looking to double the size of our operation in North of England to support continued UK growth.

“We were recently awarded a major North Sea contract by TAQA to provide operations, maintenance, engineering and construction to its North Sea assets and we have other work under contract and in the pipeline that requires UK-wide support.

“We are keen to tap into the strong skills base in Cheshire and grow our operations in the region to manage current work and position Wood Group PSN for bidding future work.”

The firm, which employs around 8,000 people, said it is looking for qualified and experienced engineers and designers across all of its disciplines and will be hosting a recruitment roadshow next week. The event will be held from 8am-8pm at the Daresbury Park Hotel in Warrington.
