Ex-TDG site in Trafford Park sold for £2m

J HOPKINS Contractors has bought a 135,000 sq ft industrial warehouse building on Westinghouse Road at Trafford Park for £2m.

The company bought the unit, which was previously occupied by transport giant TDG, from a private equity firm. It was advised on the sale by WHR Property Consultants.

TDG had been owned by private equity firm Douglas Bay Capital until it was sold to French freight giant Norbert Dentressangle late last year in a £196m deal.

J Hopkins Contractors is a family-owned civil engineering company currently based in Urmston. It is set to demolish part of the existing structure to adapt the building to suit its specific requirements and relocate as part of its expansion plan.

Mike Rooney, partner at WHR, said: “Trafford Park always has been and will always continue to be the North West’s leading industrial destination.  We are seeing increasing activity in the industrial market with a gradual rise in take up, particularly at the larger end of the scale.”
