Family lawyers leave Pannone for JMW

FAMILY law experts Catherine Jones and Beth Wilkins are to leave Pannone after a combined 45 years of service and are joining JMW.
Veteran partners Catherine Jones and Beth Wilkins, who have recently been working part-time at the Manchester firm, have been snapped-up by ambitious JMW.
Catherine Jones has been at Pannone for 29 years and led the family team for 20 years. She is a specialist in financial claims involving complex business and trust interests.
Beth Wilkins joined the firm in 1995 and her speciality is the resolution of complex and high value financial cases and private law children’s cases.
Pannone said its family team, headed by partner Andrew Newbury, remains the largest outside London.
Managing Partner Emma Holt said: “Catherine and Beth have made a very significant contribution to the firm and I wish them all the best for the future.”
Bill Jones, managing partner of JMW said he was “thrilled” to have secured the appointments of both as fixed-share equity partners.
“They have a national reputation and will bring a lot to JMW – I see this as a major coup for our firm and our family law department.”
Both are expected to make the short journey from Deansgate to Spinningfields in early October.
The appointments follow JMW’s hires of Chris Moss (corporate), Carl Moran (employment), Keith Arrowsmith (intellectual property), and Mark Davies (corporate recovery) so far this year.
Jones added: “I have known Catherine and Beth for a long time and I have the upmost respect for them and when the opportunity came up to recruit them we were delighted to.”
