RESIDENTIAL sales and lettings company homes4u has opened a  re-modelled and refurbished ‘hub’ for its central services team.

The firm says the investment in the new facility in Withington, Manchester, follows an “excellent performance in South Manchester”.

The hub will be the base for the firm’s property management, operations, marketing, training and HR and finance teams.

CHESHIRE based solar panel specialist, The Green Electrician has won a Solar PV kit distribution contract with Stockport Homes worth more than £4m.

The contract will include the design and supply of 1,300 domestic solar PV (photovoltaic) kits ready for installation to the social housing firm.

Rupert Higgin, MD of The Green Electrician said: “We have been involved in the development of the company’s Shine Project (Stockport Homes Investing in Natural Energy) for several months, providing advice and training based on our experience as installers. It was very exciting to see the first Solar PV system being commissioned in August.”

RADIO presenter Nicky Campbell, host of BBC Radio 5Live’s Breakfast show, is hosting the Institute of Directors’ Director of the Year awards next month.

Campbell, who is moving to MediaCity this autumn, along with the rest of the news and sport-focused station, will preside over the event at Hilton Manchester on October 6.

Darrell Matthews, regional director of the IoD North West said: “Nicky is a respected and talented journalist and presenter, and we are lucky enough to have him host this year.
