North West tailor plans national expansion

MANCHESTER-based tailor Berkley Bowen is planning to expand out of the region, after enjoying bumper sales.
The firm saw sales increase by a third in the last quarter of 2009, and said it has also had strong start to 2010.
The increase in demand for appointments has seen the bespoke tailor has taken on two new professional clothiers at its Bowdon showroom.
The success of both its Manchester and Liverpool showrooms has also meant it now plans to expand outside the North West.
The firm plans to launch two new showrooms this year and is looking at locations in London, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
Carl Emery, partner at Berkley Bowen, said: “We have had a phenomenal few months with our team having a full schedule of appointments, with the demand there to cater for much more, we have taken on two new recruits to ensure we can cater for our expanding client base.
“The success of our two North West showrooms has demonstrated that there is a growing demand for a high quality bespoke tailoring solution produced in this country, which is why we are embarking on launching new showrooms.”
