Cumbrian holiday cottage complex sold

THE Manchester office of Colliers has sold a complex of seven holiday cottages near Cockermouth in Cumbria on behalf of its owner, David Dunlop.

The Ellen Hall Cottages complex in the village of Gilcrux has been acquired by Wayne and Jo Flower, who have moved north to run the self-catering cottages which surround a three-bed house in landscaped gardens.

Haydn Spedding, associate director at Colliers, said: “We have several self-catering complexes on our books and have also agreed a sale of another that is in the hands of solicitors.

“The sale of Ellen Hall Cottages reflects continuing interest in the market for self-catering cottages that provides a fantastic quality of life with a successful business in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

“David Dunlop has successfully traded the business since 2003. Wayne and Jo Flower move to Ellen Hall from Salisbury where they were partners in their family farm”.

The sale price was not disclosed.
