Four units let at Radclyffe Park

ONE third of retail units at property company LPC’s Radclyffe Park development in Ordsall have been pre-let to tenants two months before the scheme has been completed.

A total of 4,744 sq ft has been let to bookmaker BetFred (1,614 sq ft), charity shops Barnardos (1,377 sq ft) and Shaw Trust (936 sq ft) and Eyeline Opticians (817 sq ft).

Betfred boss Fred Done opened his first shop in the nearby Ordsall District centre in 1967. He said: “After the recent acquisition of the Tote I now have 1,350 shops nationwide but I was very keen to invest in an area which is very close to my heart and very near to where it all began 44 years ago.”

A total of 35,000 sq ft of commercial space on the site at Trafford Road on the Ordsall/Salford Quays border is under construction at Radclyffe Park alongside the 50,000 sq ft Morrisons supermarket, 156-bed Travelodge hotel and 79 new homes. Tushingham Moore were advisors to LPC Living on the four units with Manchester-based law firm Gateley acting on behalf of the developer.

LPC Living’s development director, Simon Ashdown, said: “With an estimated nine million vehicles passing by each year, guaranteed footfall from anchor tenants Morrisons and Travelodge and the BBC fuelling the area’s growing population Radclyffe Park is an unbeatable choice for any company looking to expand their business”.

Jeremy Simpson at Tushingham Moore said: “We’ve had a positive response from retailers attracted by the value and prominence of the retail space available adjacent to a new 50,000 sq ft Morrisons.”

Tushingham Moore is in talks with occupiers for the remaining 20,000 sq ft of retail space, which is due for completion in November.
