Tablets boost Think4 growth

HEYWOOD-based IT specialist Think4 has said its 2011 turnover is set to rise by 18% to £3.5m, due to an increase in the market for tablet PCs.

The company, which was set up five years ago, launched a specialist mobile computing arm two years ago and said that it has carved out a niche in a market made popular by Apple’s iPad.

It is now planning to open a London office and is considering making acquisitions to fuel further growth.

Managing director Robert Gibbons said: “It has been another very encouraging year for the business and we are delighted with the growth figures.

“We moved into the tablet market at a very early stage in its development. Think4Mobile has already made massive strides and is already making a real contribution to the business.

“At the same time, our core business of providing IT support and service to the SME sector has also performed really well, despite the tough economic conditions.

“We have won a series of new contracts over the last 12 months — including a number of blue-chip London hotels. This is the third successive year we have been able to report growth figures above 20 per cent.

The company currently employs 20 staff but is in the process of recruiting another engineer and a salesperson.
