Imerja tightens Business Link North West’s IT security

IT services provider, Imerja, has been commissioned by Business Link Northwest to complete a security upgrade of all its mobile devices.
The Bolton-based company has been appointed following a change in government legislation resulting from a series of high-profile data losses.
Government agencies now need to ensure the security of all devices like USB sticks, laptops and smart phones which are taken outside corporate networks.
Imerja will now carry out an evaluation of the safety aspects of Business Link Northwest’s mobile devices and then install appropriate ‘safety’ solutions for the organisation.
Ian Jackson, managing director at Imerja, said: “Business Link North West will soon be an exemplary case of how any business, whether public or private, should handle data.
“More companies need to follow suit as breaches in security are so easily remedied that there really is no excuse.”
Martin Gore, IT infrastructure manager at Business Link Northwest, said: “Protecting our client’s data has always been of the utmost importance for us and this latest upgrade will ensure that we continue to provide this security for our contacts whilst also fulfilling the new government requirement.”
Business Link Northwest – which is aligned to the North West Regional Development Agency – provides free guidance and support to all businesses in the region.
