Begbies launches distressed property site

INSOLVENCY specialist Begbies Traynor has launched a new online portal to market the distressed properties on its books.

The Manchester-headquartered firm said that there are more than 300 distressed properties on the site, including several parcels of development land.

North West properties listed include the 34,000 sq ft Oakdale Mill in Oldham for £500,000, a Grade II-listed three-storey office building in Macclesfield for £250,000 and a 77,000 sq ft development site at Coral Mill in Rochdale.

Partner Alistair Dickson, who oversaw the site’s development, said the site features a variety of commercial, residential and industrial properties.

“Volumes are rising rapidly and we expect the properties listed to treble over the next three months, due to the level of interest we have already received in the site,” he said.

“Although the UK real estate market remains slow, we are seeing significant levels of interest in the properties we have listed which we believe represent good value and are realistically priced to sell.”
