Wates wins £13m Liverpool Uni project
WATES Construction has won a £13m project to build The University of Liverpool’s new Central Teaching Laboratory.
The three-storey building will provide new facilities for undergraduate science teaching and be located adjacent to the Undergraduate Lecture Theatre, at the heart of the University’s Science Teaching Campus.
Landscaped green space will border the development to the south of the site.
The Central Teaching Laboratory has been designed to transform the city’s science teaching and improve interaction between students of the different science disciplines.
John Shannon, business unit director for Wates Construction, said: “This is an exciting new project which will be of huge benefit to the city and its students. We look forward to working with the University of Liverpool again.”
Work is scheduled to begin in May, with completion expected in July 2011.
