Addleshaws hails strong first half showing

LAW firm Addleshaw Goddard increased its interim fee income by 11% to £86.6m.

The firm, which has offices in Manchester, Leeds and London, said the figure was compared to the same period the previous year.

Managing partner Paul Devitt said: “It’s been a very good performance in the year to date with important client wins, improved panel positions and significant new assignments across the business.

“It’s great to see our continued investment in client relationships and chosen sectors paying off in that way.

“There is, as we all know, increased market and economic turbulence. However, we have a strong and improved platform and I’m optimistic about where our potential can take us.”

Over the period Addleshaw Goddard’s Manchester office advised on deals worth £1.6bn  in the region including the merger of The Co-operative Group’s travel business with Thomas Cook and the Peel Group’s takeover of Pinewood Shepperton.

The firm is expected to open new offices in Dubai and Singapore over the coming months.
