Law firm sets up financial planning arm

LIVERPOOL-based solicitors firm Maxwell Hodge has launched a new financial planning company.

Maxwell Financial Planning Ltd will be a new operating arm of the legal firm, providing clients with financial advice and support.

Clients of Maxwell Financial Planning will have access to a team of 10 independent financial advisors, with expertise in different fields.

Carol Head, business services director at Maxwell Hodge, said: “Adding a financial advisory side to our business is a natural fit for a legal firm.

“We have regularly had requests from our legal clients needing financial advice, particularly from clients who want advice after inheriting sums of money or being awarded damages from legal wins. Now with the set-up of this new company, we will be able to service this demand.”

Michael Yates, managing partner, said: “Developing a financial planning arm for a legal firm is something quite unique in this region but it will be hugely beneficial to the business and our clients.  The financial planning arm will give our clients an even better service, meaning that they can get all their legal and financial advice under one roof.”

Maxwell Hodge employs more than 80 staff and operates from eight offices stretching from Formby to Wirral, with a city centre office in Liverpool’s business district.
