Frurt to open two new ‘froyo’ bars in Manchester

MANCHESTER-based frozen yogurt bar Frurt is to open two new stores in the city centre and create 28 jobs.
Husband and wife team, Syed and Shaza Ul Hassan opened their first store on Whitworth Street West in July and employs 11 staff to work both in store and at events.
They are self funding the expansion and the new stores, to be located in Deansgate and Picadilly, will be open by the end of January 2012.
The yogurt is made from soya, not dairy and so is suitable for vegans and those who are lactose intolerant as well as being Kosher certified.
Syed Ul Hassan said: “Our branding and store design is unique and quirky which resembles our product. It was important to stand out. We want to be known for being trend setters in the industry.”
The pair believe the health aspect of their product is crucial to its success.
Ul Hassan said: “The one thing we were adamant about was that we did not want a premade product, something most frozen yogurt bars sell. Even though the product is fat free they contain a high level of sugar content. As a result, we decided to make our yogurt fresh, daily, in-store. In other words, our customers can actually enjoy an authentic frozen yogurt, guilt free, with as many health benefits as possible.”
