Concerto strikes a note with cost-saving software

A NORTH West software company is hoping to double turnover and profits in the next three years amid growing demand from businesses and local authorities.
Concerto, based in Frodsham, Cheshire, develops web-based project and asset management software systems.
Founded in 2004 by experienced software engineer Kevan Davey, Concerto works with more than 30 local authorities and a growing number of private sector companies.
Davey told TheBusinessDesk.com, that in an environment where public sector organisations are increasingly cost conscious, Concerto can make a difference.
“Despite all the cuts it has become apparent that councils need better technology to do what they do, particularly when they are running projects across many departments and geographic boundaries and trying to keep costs under control.”
Concerto, which has 10 staff, will turn over £1m this year – sales have grown in every year since the business was formed by Davey and Steve De Rycke, a former colleague at Tribal plc.
Recent contracts include Wirral Council and Argyll & Bute Council in Scotland – which was worth around £100,000 – and on the private sector side, Stockport-based WEMS International.
“The plan is to try and double turnover and profits in the next two to three years as we win more business. We will continue to invest in out products so we can offer clients more as well.”
