Dental Law Partnership celebrates 10th anniversary

A CHESHIRE law firm is celebrating a decade of working for victims of dental malpractice.
The Dental Law Partnership was the UK’s first specialist law firm to give victims of dental negligence access to justice by being one of the first firms of solicitors to use conditional fee agreements.
This allowed patients to pursue their claims without fear of high legal costs after they were introduced in 2000.
Established in August 2000 by two solicitors who were also qualified dentists, the firm has now settled claims for more than 2,000 people and achieved in the region of £16m of damages for clients across England and Wales.
It is still the only firm of solicitors in the UK with a team of in-house dental experts to advise its legal department on the specifics of each case, assessing the patient’s history and whether procedures were followed correctly.
Chris Dean, managing director of the Dental Law Partnership said: ”When the Dental Law Partnership was founded 10 years ago, victims of dental malpractice had little or no access to justice due to the high cost of taking specialist legal advice.
“As well as suffering considerable pain and anguish, victims also faced being left out of pocket paying for corrective treatment – which itself can often run into thousands of pounds.
“Now, we are the leading legal practice of our kind in England and Wales and have a dedicated team of 40 people working to promote access to justice for all dental patients.”
