Appointments: BDO boosts turnatound team ; Trio joins MIDAS board
THE Manchester office of acountants and business advisors BDO has strengthened its business restructuring team with the appointment of Alexander (Sandy) MacPherson as director – operational performance improvement.
Mr McPherson was previously director of private equity/M&A at Celerant Consulting, focusing on the performance improvement of private equity-backed ventures across the UK, Europe, Middle East and the USA.

MIDAS, the inward investment agency for Greater Manchester, has appointed three councillors to its board. They are Guy Harkin from Bolton, Dave Sweeton of Tameside and Dave Goddard, lader of Stockport council.
The board of the organisation is mostly made up of senior business people Led by chairman Michael Oglesby, founder of property company Bruntwood, the board includes; Keith Alderson, Co-operative Bank; Andrew Cliffe, Manchester Airports Group; Malcolm Edge of KPMG; Mike Blackburn, BT; John Clarke, Tesco; Professor Rod Coombs, University of Manchester; Paul Horrocks, Essential Communications; Gerry Yeung, Yang Sing Group of Restaurants and other councillors Sue Murphy (Manchester) and Michael Cornes (Trafford).
