Morson buys Acetech for £2.35m

TECHNICAL recruitment specialist Morson Group has paid £2.35m for Acetech Personnel, a subsidiary of Babcock International.

The AIM-listed Salford-based company, which supplies skilled workers to the aerospace, defence and other industries, described Acetech as Babcock’s in-house recruitment agency, providing around 450 workers to its marine and rail businesses.

Chief Executive, Ged Mason, said: “We are confident this strategic acquisition will provide additional opportunity and increased market share and position Morson well for any future upturn in the market.”

The deal follows last month’s £7.75m acquisition of Surrey-based rival Wynnwith from administrators.

Contracts have been agreed with Babcock to continur to supply staff for the next five years. The acquisition involves the transfer of 18 staff to Morson.
