Appointments: New marketing chief for Speedy; JLL boosts shopping centre team & more

NORTH West tool and equipment hire giant Speedy, has appointed Steve McIntyre as its new group marketing director.

He joins the Newton-le-Willows company after five years in the same role for PPG Architectural Coatings – owner of the Johnstone’s and Leyland paint brands.
Steve – a qualified polymer chemist – previously headed up the marketing team at French utility giant Gaz de France (GDF Suez).

Speedy’s chief executive Steve Corcoran said: “We have evolved from an equipment hire firm to become a leading business to business support services company within the UK construction sector and are now establishing ourselves as a provider of choice to major asset owners in industries like infrastructure, energy and facilities management.

“Steve’s experience in some of these sectors both in marketing and at an operational level will make him a huge asset to the business.”

Commenting on his appointment, Mr McIntyre said: “I’m joining Speedy at a hugely significant stage in its development as it continues to grow its presence in new markets as a total supply chain partner.”

JONES Lang LaSalle has made two new appointments in its shopping centre management team in Manchester.

Carol Stollery, who has over 20 years’ experience in commercial property, has joined as an associate director from Workman LLP.

Diane Lyons has also joined the team as a surveying executive. Diane previously spent 14 years at CIS as head of its management information section, and the last three years in private practice.

HL Interactive has continued its expansion with the appointment of solicitor Claire Critchley as an associate.

Claire, who brings a client following with her from Halliwells, takes on a newly- created role focusing on contact recovery, arrears management and litigation services.

Commenting on her appointment, Claire Critchley said: “I am delighted to join HL Interactive. The business has a forward thinking approach to legal services and exciting ideas for the future.”

DAYTONA Manchester, the karting centre, has appointed Nick Hughes as the new general manager at its Trafford based circuit.  One of the youngest in the industry, Hughes takes over from Michael Yau who relocates to the company’s Milton Keyes operation.

Mr Hughes, aged 27 of Timperley, brings a wealth of experience to the job having worked for the Daytona business since 1998 in a variety of roles.
