Morrison wins £20m housing deal in north Manchester

CONSTRUCTION firm Morrison has secured a £20m deal to extend its contract with Northwards Housing – the Arms Length Management Organisation responsible for more than 12,500 properties in north Manchester.

The deal will see  Manchester Working – a joint venture between Manchester City Council and Morrison’s facilities management arm – carry out repairs and improvements to Northwards’ estate for a further two years and eight months. It was initially appointed in 2006 and its current deal was due to expire in December, but will now run until 2013.

Morrison said the fact that the contract extension was agreed six months before the expiry date, which was a sign of “the strength of the relationship between the two organisations”.
