Adventure wood attraction for Tatton Park

PLANS for an outdoor adventure park attraction at Tatton Park in Cheshire are being drawn up.

Cheshire East Council is teaming up with Norfolk company Bure Valley Adventures to bring its BeWILDerwood concept to the 1,000-acre Cheshire estate near Knutsford.

The project, at an early stage, is part of a plan set out a year ago by the local authority to boost visitor numbers and lessening its reliance on public subsidies .

Cheshire East Council cabinet member with responsibility for prosperity, Cllr Jamie Macrae said: “This proposal is a huge part of Cheshire East Council’s ambitious plans for the Tatton Vision.

“Tatton Park is already the premier major attraction in the region with more than 800,000 visitors a year. Our vision is to realise its full potential at national level and raise the visitor to over 1,000,000 visitors a year.

“By working closely with this prestigious company, we are showing our real commitment to improving the facilities and enhancing the whole visitor experience. In turn, this will bring a major boost to the local and regional economy and provide jobs for local people.”

A public exhibition will begin on February 23 will also be available online at www.BeWILDerwoodTatton.co.uk and provide more details about the proposal.
