Cheshire Oaks gears up for racing season

THE owner of retail outlet Cheshire Oaks has said it expects 1.5 million shoppers over the next eight weeks, in the run up to the first race at Chester Races in May.
The racing season accounts for 25% of total annual spring fashion sales at McArthurGlen’s Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.
Mark Schofield, centre manager at McArthurGlen’s Cheshire Oaks, said the racing season is one of the biggest occasion fashion buying periods of the year and the company is also sponsoring the races for the first time in 2012.
He said: “Shoppers visit us from Manchester, Liverpool and Chester to find leading brands for up to 60% less. Many buy a new outfit each year whereas others re-invent an existing outfit with accessories, spending on average anything between £200 and £1,000.”
Cheshire Oaks is around seven miles from Chester Races but is also close to several other race courses such as Aintree – where the renowned Grand National takes place – Haydock and Bangor on Dee.
