Northern Trust sells Leyland site to Jones Homes

NORTHERN Trust, the Chorley-based property investment and development business, has sold a 5.5 acre site in Leyland to Jones Homes, which will see the creation of a new 57 house development.
The disposal of the land neighbouring Farington Lodge Hotel follows Northern Trust’s successful planning application for 55 family homes back in September 2010.
Jones Homes subsequently submitted its own planning application for a revised 57 homes which was approved in November 2011.
The 57 houses at Farington Grange will range from two to four bedrooms.
Stephen Glenn, land executive at Northern Trust, said: “Due to the current shortfall in the supply of housing, Northern Trust understands the importance of delivering new homes to the local community. We are delighted to have completed the sale of this land enabling a developer with an excellent reputation to bring forward an exciting residential development in the Farington area of Leyland.”
Julie Hardy, sales director for Jones Homes, said: “Farington Grange will give new homebuyers the chance to acquire a stunning family home built to our usual high standards in beautiful open surroundings yet close to all necessary amenities, schools and commuter links.”
Work is due to start on the site in the next few weeks with the first phase of properties being released for sale in mid April.
