Amiri buys wallpaper business for £4.5m
US-based company OMNOVA Solutions has sold its Muraspec wallpaper business to Manchester-based private equity firm a2e Venture Catalysts in a deal worth around £4.5m.

US-based company OMNOVA Solutions has sold its Muraspec wallpaper business to Manchester-based private equity firm a2e Venture Catalysts in a deal worth around £4.5m.

Muraspec produces and distributes wallpaper to trade buyers in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

The Muraspec business has a design and distribution centre at Hemel Hempstead and a manufacturing plant in in Kent. It also has sales offices in Paris, Warsaw and Dubai. The firm employs 200 people and has sales of around £200m.

OMNOVA Solutions’ chairman and CEO Kevin McMullen said: “Due to the very different design preferences of countries and cultures throughout the world, the global commercial wallcovering market tends to require a regional focus, which a2e will be in a better position to serve.
