Yang Sing owner unveils Wokooshii

THE doors are about to open on the latest venture from Yang Sing owner Gerry Yeung.

Wokooshii, Mr Yeung’s first new venture since the failure of the Yang Sing Oriental hotel in March 2009, will open later this week.
Described as a fusion of Japanese and Korean food, Wokooshii, which has seen a £200,000 investment, is situated next door to the Yang Sing Cathay at The Trafford Centre.
The restaurant employs around 10 staff and there are plans to take on more in the coming months. Mr Yeung also has plans to expand the restaurant brand.
Mr Yeung said: “This is the Year of the Dragon which hopefully bodes well for Wokooshii. In time to come we hope to roll out this brand nationally.
“The menu will feature a range of dishes that capture the very best of Japanese and Korean cooking. New dishes will sit alongside classic favourites like Shabu Shabu, Tempura and Bibimbap.”
The name and branding for the restaurant were created by Altrincham agency RMS.
Ruth Shearn, managing director of RMS, said: “This has been a fantastic project – creating a brand new name and identity for a restaurant that will become a national household name has been very exciting and has really played to our strengths.”
