DAC Beachcroft to double fraud team

LAW firm DAC Beachcroft is planning to double the size of its insurance fraud team in Manchester to 60 in the next six months.

The national firm, created by the merger last year of Davies Arnold Cooper and Beachcroft, said the enlarged team would be based at Fountain Street in the city centre.

The growth plan will treble case volumes from 100 per month last year to more than 300 per month.

Regional senior partner Robert Moss said insurance fruad was a big growth area for the firm: “The team has already grown in the last two-and-a-half years from just five claims handlers to the 30 we have today.

“In the next six months, we will be recruiting across all levels of staff to build our team to around 60 specialists. The team is very progressive and, as such, already has a great reputation in Manchester.

“Following this organic growth, we will soon have the resource necessary to build an enviable presence and are already working on plans to grow this team further in the future.”

The fraud team handles cases from opportunistic fraud, right through to serious organised crime..

Mr Moss added: “Fraud is big business and is often gang-related. It is moving away from the typical ‘cash for crash’ scenario to more complex personal injury and casualty fraud. Our main aim is to help insurers identify the problem early to avoid the case progressing to the costly litigation process.”

The insurance team will occupy the 8,000 sq ft building which was previously occupied by legacy firm Davis Arnold Cooper.
