Stocks moves to Trafford Park

A MANCHESTER-based wholesaler has secured funding to move to a new warehouse at Trafford Park.

Stocks Manchester is a business specialising in surplus or unwanted stock, which it buys from and sells to a range of clients including manufacturers, distributors and retailers.

The firm has previously traded from leased premises at Pilsworth, near Bury, but has now secured a funding package from NatWest bank to buy a 60,000sq ft distribution centre and offices on a two-acre site on Village Way. The move will allow the firm to create an extra four jobs, bringing the total number of employees to 25.

Stocks buys and sells excess and discontinued stock covering anything from garden, DIY, homeware, toys, health and beauty and home entertainment products.

Jack Caplin, who owns and runs the business alongside partner Mike Josephson, said: “This move is the natural next step for us and to go from two rented sites 18 miles apart to owning a permanent base allows us to increase our storage capacity and provide and even wider range of goods.

“We started the business from scratch, so to see this achievement is very rewarding for Michael and myself.”

Tim Hine, relationship director for NatWest Commercial banking said: “Jack and Mike are an ambitious team and saw this as a great opportunity to grow an already successful business.”
