Dev Secs wins Broughton planning appeal

DEVELOPMENT Securities has said that it is likely to win an ongoing planning dispute surrounding a 19-acre residential site in Broughton, near Chester.

The Welsh Governmet’s planning inspector was asked to look at the application after Dev Secs appealed against a decision by Flintshire County Council not to grant permission for its outline application to build homes on the site.

The inspector has recommended that the scheme is granted permission, so the Welsh Minister for Environment, Sustainability and Housing has written to the firm stating that he is ‘minded to accept’ the inspector’s decision, subject to negotiation over affordable housing levels and Section 106 agreements.

In a statement issued this morning, the firm said: “Development Securities believes that these revisions can be agreed shortly.”
