Appointments: Santander; Pannone & more

SANTANDER Corporate Banking has boosted its top team on Merseyside with the appointment of three regional directors.

The new recuits are Gordon Clements, who has joined from Lloyds Banking Group, where he was most recently a director for the real estate division, covering Liverpool and Manchester; Richard Hennity, a former associate director at Bank of Ireland, and Chris Longsdale, an internal promotion.

The Merseyside team will soon be relocating to new premises in the heart of Liverpool city centre, at No. 4 St Paul’s Square.

Andrew Mulliner, regional director for Merseyside aid: “I’m delighted with the progress being made in Merseyside. Across the region, we’ve lent businesses in the regions £115m in the last year, up to the end of March 2012. Our performance demonstrates that we have gathered real momentum in the Region.

“I think it’s really important to have people on the ground in the key local business markets across Merseyside, so I’m really pleased that we’re expanding out team and having more relationship directors on the ground.”

LAW firm Pannone has strengthened its Affinity Solutions division with the hire of Kate Burke as a business development manager.

She joins the Manchester firm from insurer AXA, where she was a corporate partnerships manager. She specialises in the delivery of “white-labelled” product and customer service solutions in respect of insurance, financial services and consumer brands.

Pannone’s Head of Affinity Solutions, Andrew Morton said, “The introduction of the Legal Services Act last year was a sea change, enabling consumer facing organisations to take advantage of the opportunity to offer their customers legal services directly by becoming an ABS (Alternative Business Structure), or by ‘white labelling’ and outsourcing their legal offering.

“Our Affinity Services division has been formed to help clients take either commercial route and Kate’s experience in the insurance and financial services sectors will be invaluable in helping us reach key decision makers in major organisations.”
