Balfour Beatty JV wins £300m NW roads contract

A JOINT venture between infrastructure group Balfour Beatty and Mott MacDonald has been awarded a £300m contract to operate, maintain and improve the major roads in the region.
Beginning in November this year, the JV – which is 70% owned by Balfour Beatty – will maintain and improve over 500km of motorway and trunk roads in Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and parts of Lancashire.
The asset support contract runs over the next five years and adds to Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald’s current portfolio which includes the South East.
