Crystal to redevelop Northwich property into business centre

COMMERCIAL property developer Crystal has acquired Hartford House in Northwich, for an undisclosed sum.

The 16,300 sq ft building is located in the centre of the town at the junction of Chester Way and Meadow Street. It is close to retail and leisure facilities as well as the proposed Barons Quay town centre redevelopment, and was most recently used as office space.

Crystal, a sister firm to Manchester-based property investor Hurstwood, is planning to convert the ground floor to retail units measuring between 750-6,000 sq ft. The first floor is to remain as office space while the second floor will be turned into a business centre with suites available from 100 sq ft.

The site also has the potential for redevelopment with possible uses including retail, drive-thru, trade counter and hotel, subject to relevant planning permissions, it said.

Andy Park, Crystal director, said: “We are delighted to have secured a new office building in Northwich which we will be renaming Northwich Business Centre. Our sister company Hurstwood have had significant success in Cheshire with our recently refurbished offices at Edwin Foden Business Centre in Sandbach and we are very excited by the potential of this new building.”
