Engineering firm chooses Manchester for second UK office

LORIEN Engineering Solutions has opened a new Manchester office, to service the North West region.

The £6m turnover engineering design and project management firm, which has its head office in Burton-on-Trent and a further office in Poland, has hired Paul Kirtley as engineering project manager and to lead the new regional office.

Alongside a team of specialist engineers, Mr Kirtley will grow the firm’s client base across the region, particularly in the food and drink sectors.

Mr Kirtley said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Lorien, particularly during such a period of growth. This is a new chapter for the company in the North West and I’m looking forward to using my years of experience to build long-term relationships with clients in the region.”

The company has doubled in size within the last three years, especially across the food, sustainability and energy efficiency sectors.

It has two dedicated staff in the Manchester office, with 15 engineering consultants deployed in the region. It plans to grow this to a core team of six, with 30 engineering consultants, within two years.

Steve Slater, managing director,  said: “While we have always worked nationally, the new Manchester office provides an opportunity for Lorien to provide local support to some of our key clients, and to also build and grow our relationships with further customers in the region. We are also interested in employing more professional engineers from the North West, adding to the overall capability of Lorien.”
