Property briefs: CBRE expands team; Davis and Moore buys Trafford Park warehouse for £750,000; and more…

THE Property and Asset Management team at CBRE North West has taken on three senior surveyors; Howard Hill and Katya Ireland, from DTZ, and Frances Hardcastle, formerly of Workman.
 
The expansion follows a number of significant appointments for the team, including responsibility for PRUPIM’s UK assets, the management of 4 million sq ft of industrial estate on Trafford Park and Heywood Distribution Park, and the gaining of office instructions from HIMOR Group in Preston.

DAVIS and Moore, a cleaning cloth manufacturer, has bought a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Trafford Park for £750,000.

The acquisition will see the company relocate from its current base in Salford to the new premises.

The unit, situated on a 2 acre site on Trafford Park Road, was previously owned by ERF.

WHR Property Consultants acted on behalf of Davis and Moore.

Simon Hampson of WHR said: “We are delighted to have secured this acquisition for our client, which is relocating from its premises in Salford. Davis and Moore acquired the unit as part of their expansion strategy and are set to carry out a significant refurbishment of the unit.”

COMMERCIAL property adviser The Vinden Partnership (TVP), has appointed Bob Lavell as managing consultant, and promoted Martin Bennett to regional director.
 
Mr Bennett’s promotion to regional director at the Bolton office will see him take responsibility for all none-insurance procurement, quantity surveying and project management activities. Since joining TVP in early 2012, he has completed a six-month development period that has seen him reach director level.
 
Mr Lavell joins TVP from Elliott Off Site Building Solutions where he was divisional commercial manager. He previously ran his own consultancy, Lavell Commercial Solutions, where he specialised in strategic and commercial management and dispute resolution. He will be responsible for regional business development to increase the firm’s client base.
 
Peter Vinden, managing director of The Vinden Partnership, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Bob to the team, and congratulate Martin on his promotion. Bob has a great deal of experience, and I look forward to working with him to grow our client base, while Martin has proved himself to be one of the rising stars within the business.”

In addition, Chelsea Harper has moved to the company’s building surveying team as a trainee building surveyor, while Mike Shaw has been selected as freelance consultant to support TVP’s corporate recovery and dispute offering.

TWO firms – Skywheels Group and Odema Ltd – have occupied new premises at Altrincham Business Park.

Skywheels specialises in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of wheels, brakes, safety and medical equipment for the aviation sector. It has taken a five-year lease on the 4,060 sq ft unit H3 at Altrincham Business Park. The business also occupies four additional units on the estate.

Odema Ltd, which provides IT support services, has taken a 10-year lease on the 8,176 sq ft Unit A3 on Altrincham Business Park after relocating from L&M Business Park in Altrincham.

Both lettings were secured jointly by Andy Backhouse, associate director, logistics and industrial at the Manchester office of Colliers International and associate director Mark Sillitoe of Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of real estate fund manager Frogmore as landlord of Altrincham Business Park.
