Bluemantle sells Holmes Chapel resi site for £13m

ALDERLEY Edge-based property investment and development company Bluemantle has sold a 20 acre residential site in Holmes Chapel to Bellway Homes for £13m.

The site forms part of a larger 30 acre mixed-use scheme for which Bluemantle secured planning consent for 230 homes and a mixture of commercial uses at the end of last year.

The residential site also includes significant areas of open space, retained landscaped buffers and play areas.

Bellway has submitted a reserved matters application and is due to be on site later this year.

Bluemantle has retained ownership of the remaining 10 acre site, which fronts the A50 London Road.

Simon Isherwood of Bluemantle said: “We are now turning our focus to the remaining 10 acres which we believe is ideally suited to accommodate a variety of uses including a new food store. Our extensive market research has shown that there is a strong demand for a food store in Holmes Chapel, which would not only serve the needs of the local community and the surrounding area but would also provide more than 200 local jobs.

“It is our intention to bring forward a planning application in the near future incorporating a food store and several other complementary uses. An important part of the preparation of any such application will be a detailed public consultation exercise which will give residents and other interested parties the opportunity to comment on our initial proposals and to influence the design process.”
