Waste firm Tradebe expands healthcare arm

ELLESMERE PORT waste management firm Tradebe has bought Bristol-based clinical waste business Ecowaste Southwest for an undisclosed sum.
Ecowaste’s parent, Stericycle, was forced to sell the division following a Competition Commission ruling that said its ownership would lead to a loss of local rivalry.
Tradebe, which has its headquarters in Spain, said the deal would complement its existing healthcare operation which handles 18,000 tonnes of waste a year and works with the NHS and pharmaceutical groups.
Manchester law firm Pannone advised on the deal with senior associate Mark Winthorpe leading a team which included Katie Simpson and Philip Treanor.
The Tradebe group has an annual turnover of £275m and employs 1,750 people.
