Reaseheath plans residential block

REASEHEATH College in Cheshire is planning a residential block for 150 students.

The agricultural college has submitted plans for a three-storey building at its 50-acre campus in Worleston, near Nantwich, where 500 students already live on site.

The architect on the scheme is Manchester-based Hulme Upright.

Reaseheath opened in 1921 and offers higher and further education courses related to agriculture and the natural environment. It owns 800 acres of Cheshire countryside.

Over the past three years several new buildings have gone up at the college as part of a £35m capital investment programme.

These include a learning resource centre, a state-of-the-art IT centre, a £4m animal management teaching centre, a construction trades workshop, new halls of residence and £2.3m upgrade of equine facilities.

The college has a turnover of £21m and caters for 1,800 further education students and 500 studying higher education courses.
