MSIF backs wealth manager

A LIVERPOOL wealth management company is expanding with backing from MSIF.

Wilcocks & Associates based at The Plaza, St Paul’s Square provides  estate planning and wealth management service, including wills and various will trusts, inheritance tax mitigation, independent financial advice and investment management services.

The loan funding has allowed the ambitious firm to hire  new staff, and Wilcocks hopes to build its team further as it grows.

It offers an innovative, interactive service with each client being given their own private web portal to store, view and manage all of their investment and financial information in one place.

It also delivers a real time valuation of their portfolio every time the system is accessed.

Clients also receive a free Smartphone App, providing access to the system at any time, any where.  The award winning system is fully protected in the same way as online banking.

The business is run by brothers Martin and Robert Wilcocks, both experienced financial professionals.

MSIF has provided a loan to help expand the business, recruit further staff and fund marketing campaigns that have been built over the last 12 months to run alongside the business plan.

Martin Wilcocks said:  “We want to blow away the image of stuffy wealth managers and bring the industry into the 21st century by using innovative technology.

“Our clients can invest into set investment strategies with five of the biggest global investment managers that currently have over £300 billion under management between them. We also provide access to around 15000 investments including funds, Exchange Traded Funds and direct equities.  In essence, we are providing the same offering as a City firm right here in Liverpool but at a fraction of the cost.

“The money from MSIF is vital for growth and will be spent on marketing, recruiting new staff and expanding our service offering.”

MSIF investment director Paul Humphray said:  “Martin and Robert are highly driven, capable and experienced. They have a good understanding of their business and where they are planning to take it but what sets them apart is their energy and desire to do things differently.

“We believe Wilcocks & Associates has great market potential and we are very pleased to be supporting them.”

The company has recruited three self employed partners and two additional support staff. A further two are expected to be taken on within the next two years.
