Findel in talks to sell healthcare division

FINDEL, the home shopping, educational supplies and healthcare products group, is in talks with an un-named party to sell its NRS Healthcare division.

The east Manchester-based listed company said in a short statement is in “preliminary discussions” over a potential deal for the £76.7m turnover unit, which made an operating profit of £2.2m in the year to the end of March.

It added: “There can be no certainty that any agreement will be reached.  The company will keep the market informed as appropriate.”

NRS sells and supplies, via contract with local authorities, aids for daily living such as mobility scooters.

The business which is based in Asby De La Zouch in Leicestershire employs 500 people and was originally known as Nottingham Rehab Supplies.

NRS holds a number of Integrated Community Equipment (ICE) contracts
with local authorities.

Should the deal go ahead, Findel would focus on its education supplies and home shopping brands which include Kleeneze, Kitbag and Express Gifts.
