Fairport Containers opens third depot

LANCASHIRE waste container firm Fairport Containers has invested more than £1m in a third UK depot.

The firm, which is headquartered in Adlington says the 3.6-acre site in Somerset will produce 20,000 containers a year and employ up to 15 staff.

It already operates outside the North West at  a depot in Buckinghamshire.

Managing director, Steve Collinson, said: “Our Bridgwater depot takes our operations directly to a part of the country we have been looking to establish a presence in for some time.

“The south west depot will greatly reduce transport costs for our customers in the area as they will no longer need to take containers across to Buckinghamshire for servicing. We are also hoping to form some new working relationships with companies based in the region.”

The depot is due to open in January, marking the firm’s 20th year in business.
