Loan helps Metro Metals upgrade

BURNLEY metal recycler Metro Metals has secured £550,000 from Barclays to support its growth plans.
The asset finance loan will be used to buy processing equipment which it expects to improve efficiency and capacity, and reduce operating costs.
The family business was established under railway arches on Ashfield Road in Burnley in 1958. It now operates from a recycling facility at Heasandford Industrial Estate.
Managing director Ross Shekleton said: “The bank’s support is an endorsement of our strategy and illustrates both the strength of our balance sheet and the quality of our asset base.”
The funding was arranged by Barclays’ relationship director Stuart Barrie and asset finance regional sales director Stirling Hulme.
